Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Medical Surgical - Ortho/Trauma Job Duration: 12 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (18:45 - 07:15) Guaranteed Hours: Experience: Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical experience; unit accepts first-time travelers License: GA or Compact license must be in hand Certifications: BCLS Must-Have: - Ability to float within facility and to sister campus if needed - Compliance with full requirements; delays in compliance can push back the start by 2 weeks due to bi-weekly orientation schedules Job Description: - Work in a Medical Surgical unit specializing in ortho/trauma and overflow - Care for a patient population ranging from adults to geriatrics - Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6 - Use systems such as Pyxis, EPIC & SBAR - Complete an orientation consisting of 13 non-billable hours - Availability to work 5-6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule - Required to work major holidays during assignment with specifics on how holiday assignments are determined - Submit core items and complete/schedule labs within 48 hours of contract signing to ensure an on-time start - Provide supervisory references, with preferences for managerial or higher-level references
