Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Labor & Delivery Job Duration: 17 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Days Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years in specialty and travel experience required License: Yes Certifications: ACLS, BLS, Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, NRP Must-Have: - 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery - Intermediate or above in Electronic Fetal Monitoring Job Description: - This position involves working in a Labor & Delivery unit with 12 labor beds, 5 antepartum beds, 2 operating rooms, and a 6-bed OB emergency room. - The unit averages 150-200 births per month. - Follow AWHONN Fetal Heart Monitoring System. - The electronic medical record system used is MEDITECH. - Charge Nurses are generally outside the staffing grid. - OR technicians serve as OB technicians, scrub for C-sections, attend vaginal deliveries, and handle all stocking. - The facility is a baby-friendly hospital with in-house lactation specialists to assist mothers. - Neonatology and OB hospitalist services are available in-house 24/7. - Nurses are required to work every other weekend and rotate holidays with permanent staff. There may be floating to the post-partum floor as needed. - Two shifts of floor-specific orientation are provided. - Common patient types include high-risk OB and routine OB cases, as well as antepartum care for patients needing extended stays. - Hospital provides scrub uniforms. - Pharmacy and respiratory therapy services are available 24/7.
